About Us
Back in October 2019, Digo Culture began with a very different mission.
At the time, it was simple: start a business. Nothing more, nothing less.
I’m Yushun – founder of Digo Culture.
I came to Australia in 2011, chasing opportunities and eventually securing my residency after years of navigating The Path.
I’ve always wanted to build something of my own, something created from the ground up. One idea stayed with me: a clothing brand rooted in sustainability, offering only organic products. It felt right. So, with quiet determination, I invested nearly all my savings into producing 500 organic t-shirts.
I sold… nine.
The rest? They’re still keeping me company at home.
I didn’t give up, though. The next drop arrived… and now the first and second are happily living together, rent-free, in my house.
Then came the global pandemic.
The world stopped. So did I. My motivation for Digo Culture was at an all-time low. But this pause also gave me something precious: time to reflect.
Before Digo Culture was even born, there was a chapter of my life that left a deep mark on me. While living with friends, an incident occurred that pulled me into a dark place, where I first came to know about anxiety and depression.
During this time, I was living in Strathfield. Each day, on my commute, I’d see my Nepali brothers and sisters at the station some laughing with friends, others sharing quiet moments with family back home. All speaking our language. All carrying a piece of home with them.
And strangely… it helped me heal.
Even though I didn’t know them, and they didn’t know me, I felt a connection. We spoke the same language. We came from the same place. We shared similar struggles, both back home and here in Australia. It gave me a sense of belonging. If I ever needed help, I knew somehow, they’d understand. We were tied together by our roots.
That was it.
If I was going to revive Digo Culture, it had to be about more than clothes.
It had to be about us.
What I took from that experience is our roots keep us grounded and connected to our truest selves. I wanted the brand to carry that message. It was a new chapter for myself and the brand. We’re still falling, learning, standing back up, and turning challenges into lessons. Above all, we’re happy. We’re celebrating our roots and proudly sharing stories from our corner of the world.
Welcome to Digo Culture.
Inspired by our roots.
